His work ethic, discipline, drive to pursue meaningful goals, willingness to help people, and commitment to striving for excellence all left a lasting impact on me.That is one of the reasons storytelling can be so powerful. They communicate values, lessons, perspectives, and ways of thinking that continue influencing people long after someone is gone.Another important thing about values is that they can continue moving forward through future generations. Even during painful seasons of life, many people find comfort in believing that their life still has meaning and purpose.For me, returning to church and strengthening my prayer life became an important part of moving forward after losing my dad. It reminded me that grief was not the end of my story and that I still had goals to pursue and opportunities ahead of me.Another important thing about prayer is that it encourages patience. Purpose is not always discovered immediately. Sometimes clarity develops slowly over time through reflection, growth, and consistent effort.Prayer does not remove grief, but it can help people navigate grief with greater peace, perspective, and hope.
